Daniella & Juandré
Diamant Estate Wedding Venue | Paarl
I’m in love with this wedding! Daniella’s beautiful long sleeved winter gown designed by the talented Alana van Heerden, the lush greenery hanging from the ceiling, the stunning bridesmaid’s gowns, and the groom’s awesome handmade skinny leather tie – by no other than Weef.
Inspiration & Wedding Style
From the very beginning we had a minimalistic, “less is more”, sort of idea for our wedding – Rustic elegance meets romantic greenery and gold. We wanted the typical Pinterest wedding but for us the most important was to have a fun/vibey wedding party.
I can honestly say that everything played out 100% the way we imagined it from day one. Every little aspect exceeded our expectations and we couldn’t have asked for it to be more perfect, I know this is not always the case with weddings but we were absolutely blessed.
Budget Wise & DIY
With the budget being quite tight we decided to cut where we can but rather spend more where we felt it mattered most, like having a ‘build your own gin’ bar, entertainment for the guests and delicious food. The only way for us to have all of the above while still having the wedding of our dreams was to do most of everything ourselves, from cutting tree branches in people’s backyards to get the greenery for the tables, to spray painting candle holders to designing and printing our own stationary.
I am blessed with the most creative mother in law who owns her own decor shop (Cotton Candy Decor & Gifts) who offered to help us with all things decor and styling and she caught on to our idea right form the start.
“I remember the way I felt in that moment and the way he touched my hand.”
What I remember most was the way he looked at me while my mom was walking me down the aisle, I remember the way I felt in that moment and the way he touched my hand. I have never experienced so much love and my heart felt like it was going to burst. After a year of planning we’ve learned that it’s important to take in as much as you can and don’t sweat the small stuff. Everything is over in a heartbeat and then you are left with only memories, so make them as memorable as possible.
Unforeseen surprises on the day
This was indeed a VERY special day as we also became uncle and aunt to the most beautiful baby boy hours before I walked down the aisle.
Challenges they faced
The biggest and most stressful challenge for us was having to find a venue that offered the best value for money. Diamant Estate was the second venue we visited and after seeing it we fell in love and immediately booked it. It reflected everything we imagined for our special day and from there everything fell in to place.
