Annette & Blaine | Jonkershoek Engagement Shoot

The proposal

We were on a much needed romantic weekend away at KolKol, when I mustered up the courage to pop the BIG question.

After a romantic first evening and a relaxing morning thereafter, She took a nap on the couch and I jumped at the opportunity to set the scene. Taking pieces of wood from the pile of firewood I sifted through to find all the right pieces to write out “Marry Me!”.

After placing all the pieces out and grabbing the bottle of Bubbly from the fridge, I woke her up “sneakily” by making some noise. I then waited for her to go outside and spot the surprise and as she did, I came out, wrapped my arms around her and whispered into her ear, “Will you Marry Me?”.

To which she promptly replied, “Yes!”. Tears, Smiles, Hugs and kiss ensued and our now amazingly memorable romantic weekend continued.

Unfortunately I was still waiting on the ring to be completed but I didn’t let that stop me, I tied a golden bow around her ring finger, symbolising my eternal commitment to her and the unbreakable bond we had created. One week later the ring was done and I asked her again, presented her the ring and the ribbon was replaced.

I couldn’t have asked for a better Fiancé. I love Annette and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her by my side. – Blaine
