Margaux & Chris

Langverwagt Wedding Venue | Kuilsrivier

Our wedding day was a gift from God.  It rained the night before and on the morning of our wedding.  People were asking if we should move the wedding inside, but we were trusting God for a garden wedding.  At 11am that morning, the rain stopped and everything looked clean, fresh and totally, beautifully ready…  The verse from Hebrews 11 that ‘God rewards those who diligently seek Him’ rang through the whole day.  His presence was tangible during the service.

It was fantastic to have all our friends and family at a banquet table, sharing a meal and celebrating our very special day with us.  We were privileged to have Michelle use her gift and talent to capture our day for us.

My wedding dress has a story of its own to it.  It was simply part of something old and new.  Being in love with anything old and sentimental, my mother gave me her wedding dress to ‘edit’ and the two of us created a new dress with lots of light-and-flowy-layers and handmade lace, which was hand-knitted onto the dress by her.  My mother’s creation of my wedding gown was however more than I could ever have imagined or dreamed of…

Bride’s thoughts…

My sister shared with me that the day goes past so quickly and advised to take moments, pause…take it all in.  And I did.  Some of those glimpses of our day, which words don’t always capture in full, keep lingering in my thoughts…

The moment my brother saw me for the first time to take me to the ceremony area.  Sharing moments of laughter with my Dad walking down the aisle.  Seeing my bridegroom’s eyes of love as I walked down the aisle and not being able to take my eyes off him.  Experiencing a deep love and sharing our very first kiss… Seeing our close family and friends laughing and sharing in our joy…  It truly was magical.

and sharing our very first kiss…
