Arina & Wilhelm
401 Rozendal Wedding Venue | Stellenbosch
This was one of those weddings where I had a childlike excitement over the fact that these two were about to get married! They are just so perfect together and definitely two of the sweetest people I’ve had the honour of getting to know.
Advice from the Bride
Decide on a budget before hand and stick to it no matter what.
Trust your service providers. I gave mine basic guidelines of what I like but then I decided to trust them and step back. They do it for a living so they know what they’re doing.
Remember it’s a celebration and a party, not a performance. Don’t try to impress your guests, stay true to who you are. We wanted it to be as personal and not about minor details.
Involve the people closest to you in the planning process. My grandmother made the jam and my mother in law made the rusks herself, which we gave each guest as a thank you gift. My mother made my dress as well as the burgundy bridesmaids dresses. My mother’s friend designed our wedding stationery. This way our family & friends felt like they played a crucial part through us making them part of the process.
Most importantly, remember you are marrying your soulmate. Whatever happens on the day, when you walk away as husband and wife, the purpose of the day was fulfilled. Nothing else really matters.
Remember 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. That’s what it’s all about. Unconditional love for each other…the rest is just background music.
